Kind Words

Kind Words
Previously in my life I've chosen work that involves building intimate and sometimes profound connections with people (I qualified as a therapist and some time later spent a number of years working as a funeral celebrant). I had assumed that being a potter would be largely devoid of that. It's been such an unexpected joy to realise that sharing with others a thing I've made with my hands (and heart) can result in something far beyond exchanging an inanimate object for money.
I feel very fortunate that owners of my work often get in touch to generously share with me their response to it and each and every time they do it touches me greatly. Here are some recent kind words...
"Just to let you know I have christened my bud vase with a beautiful peony that is growing in my garden. I am lucky that I have been able to move into my childhood home since the death of my darling parents. This peony plant I remember from when I was a small child, and as such has a very special place in my heart. I can't think of anywhere better to put such an emotive flower than in your beautiful vase. Keep up your amazing work."  Helen Bonham-Rees
"It's so lovely. I just keep staring at it."  Lizzie Henderson
"Thanks so much for the beautiful little vase that just arrived. I am thrilled with it and it was so beautifully packaged and wrapped that it was such a treat to open. Thanks so much for your lovely attention to detail and superb skills." and in a later message... "My little bud vase has moved from the dining table and is now next to my bed where it makes me smile each morning when the alarm goes off."  Julie Williams
"I LOVE my bud vases! They're absolutely perfect. Each day a different one is my favourite."  Alexa Lazar
"It is more beautiful in person than I ever imagined. HUGE congratulations and I plan to become quite the collector so I hope your wheel and kiln are ready to go!"  Khadijah Fancy
"The bud vase arrived safely yesterday morning and it was such a joy to unwrap! I am thrilled that I managed to bagsy this particular vase - the shape is beautiful and I will treasure this first piece in my 'Pip Wilcox Ceramics' collection."  Caren Barry
"I was a woman on a mission when they went on sale and my new favourite thing is a bud vase from Pip Wilcox."  Emma Higgins
"My fabulous vase has arrived and it is perfection."  Jamie Jamison
